Sanctuary House, Castle Street, Worcester, WR1 3ZQ (with a balance of home and office working)
Flexible location - Worcester preferred.
£33,250 per annum (rising to £35,000 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
37.5 hours per week
To manage the development and monitoring of a high quality contracting service that responds to organisational and customer needs while supporting the procurement and delivery of new business in accordance with Group and business objectives, plans and strategies.
The job sits within Supported Living which provides a comprehensive range of high quality accommodation and floating support services for vulnerable and disadvantaged people whose needs cannot be met in general-needs accommodation.
The job holder will ensure that they fully understand and fulfil their responsibilities in respect of Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and safeguarding at all times.
The role of Bid and Contract Officer will include:
- Coordinate and monitor the bid management and tender processes to secure new contracts and support the completion of tender and bid processes.
- Support with the management of contracts to include re-negotiations, variations and price review, to provide clear and financially sound proposals in line with Business Plan targets.
- Ensure contract management is delivered to a high standard to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, procurement processes and contractual terms.
- Identify and analyse issues with contracts and associated processes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
- Build, use and maintain effective systems, databases and processes that enable the accurate recording of information.
- Support, as appropriate, the Bid Writers in the writing of high quality bid responses.
Skills and experiences:
- Experience of writing, reviewing, and submitting technical and detailed tenders, bids and proposals, ideally within the Care and Housing sectors
- Ability to interpret information from various sources and translate this into the desired format for the bid document
- Project management skills with an understanding of project delivery and knowledge of budget setting and controls
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organised with proven ability to work under own initiative
- Experience of working within the care and support sector would be desirable
- Experience of working with Microsoft 365
