Senior Asset Surveyor
Lancaster Way, Ely
£50,467- £53,124 per year plus Company car or car allowance
40 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Senior Asset Surveyor to join our team based in Ipswich or Ely and covering surrounding areas. You will be reporting into the Regional Asset Manager and Line managing a team of surveyors in the region, overseeing the team to manage inspections, disrepairs, hazard awareness notices, stock condition surveys and re-investment programmes.
The position sits within Property Services who are responsible for delivering a high quality and cost effective property repairs, compliance and installation and estate services across the UK to mainly internal clients and additionally a small number of external clients. It is also responsible for operational Health and Safety of the service, including fire safety and delivering effective group wide asset management and reinvestment programmes.
The role of Senior Asset Surveyor will include:
- Monitor capital and revenue projects, consultants and contractors' performance and liaise with other departments to ensure work is carried out promptly and in accordance with contract specifications
- Carry out inspections and surveys to assess requirements for capital projects in line with organisational policies and procedures to ensure health and safety regulatory compliance and contract performance
- Ensure investment works are compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements and make appropriate recommendations on changes that may need to be made mid-project to ensure full compliance and consistent delivery of services
- Manage works related to stock condition surveys and property inspections within agreed financial limits and in accordance with the organisation's financial policies and procedures
- Produce appropriate documentation for work specifications and tenders and provide accurate and timely information for management reports
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to Degree, HND or HNC in Surveying, Assoc RIC, MRICS CIOB or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
- Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
- Proven experience in a building and surveying environment
- Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
- Working knowledge of building regulations, legislation and current practices
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

- £44,262 with an additional policy allowance of £6,205 per annum (rising to £46,591 with an additional policy allowance of £6,532 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
