Electrician

 

Scarborough

 

£41,192 to £43,360 per year

 

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday

 

We have an opportunity for an Electrician to join our responsive repairs team covering Scarborough and the surrounding area. The role will involve lone working and opportunities to work as part of a team. Responsibilities include, carrying out remedial and inspection works on occupied properties, as well as attending emergency repairs. You will be provided with a company van and power tools and training will be provided as and when required. For this role you will also be required to go on the emergency OOH call out rota.

 

The role of Electrician will include:

  • Maintenance and repairs, working in occupied properties
  • Inspecting and testing properties to ensure safety and compliance, and completing any necessary remedial work
  • Provide accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed
  • Completing all paperwork and producing certification associated with works undertaken
  • Monitoring and maintaining good levels of van stock and ensuring tools and equipment are kept in a suitable condition
  • Resolve problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed in line with agreed processes and within contract and service specifications
  • Being on the OOH callout rota for emergencies 1 in every 12 weeks

 

 

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 3, inspection and testing 2391-52 and AM2, BS5839-6, BS5839-1, BS 7671 - 18th Edition - 3rd and 4th amendment or currently undertaking the qualification.  As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
  • Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
  • Analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills along with a customer focused approach
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
