Senior Project Manager
Worcester based with a balance of home and office working
£53,134 - £55,931 per year
35 hours per week – Monday to Friday – Flexible between 8:00am and 6:00pm
We have an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Technology function, in the Delivery team of around 30 people. The role will involve working as a team in a matrix structure with developers, testers, and other technical resources to deliver complex IT change.
Reporting into a Senior Programme Manager, the Senior Project Manager will work within matrix teams to deliver complex IT projects and ensure that they are successfully implemented into operational teams. These projects may be standalone or be part of a wider programme of change, and the role requires the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team as required by the nature of the project.
The role of Senior Project Manager will include:
- Overseeing and managing high profile and business critical projects throughout the project lifecycle through the effective control and utilisation of resources
- Managing, monitoring and ensuring delivery of agreed projects to improve Technology services as part of the overall Technology Strategy and operational delivery
- Developing, managing and implementing project plans to effectively manage and deliver Technology improvement projects
- Supporting the delivery of solutions that meet customer needs, working with internal and external stakeholders to project manage the implementation of service and product improvements
- Leading the development and control of Technology project management processes
Skills and experiences:
- Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification
- Previous experience managing project risks and issues, plans, resource forecasts, and finances
- PRINCE2, AgilePM, APM preferred
- Comprehensive experience of managing medium to large scale Technology projects
- Proven experience in working with others to deliver projects, including indirect reports and third party suppliers
- Proven experience of producing progress reports and management information
- Advanced Microsoft Project
