Senior Finance Officer - Development
Worcester based with a balance of home and office working
£31,797 - £33,494 per year

We have an opportunity for a Senior Finance Officer to join our Development team based in Worcester. In this role you will support the activities of the team in delivering an effective finance service. This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant team offering exciting opportunities to enhance your own skill set and experience in a dynamic and changing environment. The team is responsible for managing the income and expenditure statement within the Development department, including controlling cost areas and overseeing construction scheme costs. We are a close-knit group of colleagues, and the role will involve a combination of independent working and collaborative teamwork.
The role of Senior Finance Officer – Development will include:
- You will take ownership of project data integrity, ensuring robust financial tracking in partnership with the investment team, while maintaining strong financial controls, accurate records, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- A team player supporting colleagues, management as well as wider customer base
- Analysing financial information received to produce documents/reports in line with existing departmental processes
- Processing month end documents in order to meet reporting deadlines and control checks
- Delivering routine tasks as well as ad hoc requests as necessary to the operations of the team, department and wider organisation
- Dealing with incoming queries by providing quality and timely information
Skills and experiences:
- AAT qualified or be working towards this
- Able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and present financial information clearly
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail with the ability to extract and interrogate data is essential, alongside working knowledge of financial regulations and systems
- Some experience analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- Working knowledge of financial regulations, legislation and current practice
- Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic knowledge of financial systems
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, particularly intermediate Excel, is required, with basic knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Access
