Communications Officer

 

Worcester, Glasgow or Essex with a balance of home and office working

 

£31,611 per year

 

35 hours per week

 

Temporary position for up to 12 months

 

We have an opportunity for a Communications Officer to join our Communications Department. The role sits in the Communications team, which manages brand strategy, digital, regional, internal, corporate, and strategic communications. It produces a wide range of high-quality publications and materials to promote the Group to its key stakeholders. We are looking someone with proven experience in public relations and communications who can use their skills to help promote the work of Sanctuary across a range of communications channels.

 

The role of Communications Officer will include:

  • Creating compelling pieces of content across a range of communications channels including, but not limited to, PR, social media, internal communications, web content, video, direct communications, podcasts, speeches, briefings and presentations and publications
  • Supporting with the coordination, planning and delivery of external and internal projects, as required
  • Liaising with technical specialists such as designers, web managers, printers and suppliers to ensure the delivery of effective communications across all channels
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, advising on and providing practical and cost- effective solutions for their communications challenges in order to communicate desired key messages and reach their target audience
  • Complete, improve and maintain effective and efficient administration systems and processes to support the delivery of services

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Proven experience of producing communication materials
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
  • Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • Experience in supporting the successful delivery of projects
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Ability to stay calm and constructive in meeting tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of design software and printing processes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
