Communications Manager
Worcester based with a balance of home and office working
£45,736 - £48,157 per year
35 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Manager to join our Customer Communications team in our Head Office in Worcester. Reporting to the Head of Customer Communications, you'll enjoy a mix of office and home working while leading a small team and working with people across the business to deliver communications that make a real difference.
You'll help shape how Sanctuary communicates with customers and colleagues in its Housing operations, turning complex information into clear, engaging messages that build trust, improve services and support some of the organisation's most important projects.
The role of Communications Manager will include:
- This is a varied, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You'll lead customer communications campaigns, manage a small team and provide expert advice to colleagues across the organisation
- Create compelling content that supports the delivery of the communications strategy and promotes the work of Sanctuary, including opinion pieces, proactive PR content, events, speeches, presentations, internal newsletters and social media material
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, advising on appropriate tools to communicate to their audience and providing cost-effective solutions for their communications challenges in order to communicate key messages and reach their target audience
- Support the Head of Customer Communications to develop and maintain a culture of proactive communications across the team, including evaluating the success of activities and advising on areas for improvement to strengthen the delivery of the communications service
- Undertake appropriate research and analysis to continually develop the quality and effectiveness of the overall service and to inform Sanctuary's approach to communications platforms and tools
Skills and experiences:
- Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
- Proven experience of working in a Journalist or Public Relations environment
- Proven experience of creating and delivering successful communications campaigns
- Working knowledge of press, libel laws, data protection, freedom of information, basic law regulations and current practice
- Excellent understanding of written and spoken English
- Proven experience analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- Proven experience of managing projects with strong project management skills
