Assistant Finance Business Partner

 

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working (Currently working 3 days in the office, 2 days from home)

 

£29,227 - £30,765 per year

 

35 hours per week

 

We are looking for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our Development Finance team to help provide finance business partnering support for the Development directorate. Joining a team of 39 you will be responsible for the Development Finance Income and Expenditure management accounts and maintaining accurate financial records.

 

The role of Assistant Finance Business Partner will include:

  • Provide business information to key customers and stakeholders to enable effective monitoring and to support decision making
  • Ensuring accurate reporting within timely deadlines and responsible for month end processes and procedures
  • To maintain relationships with key stakeholders ensuring early detection of issues and shortfalls are addressed while providing a high level of service
  • Preparation of journals including accruals, prepayments, and miscodes, confirming a robust audit trail is present
  • Supporting the Finance Business Partner with day-to-day activities, including reconciliations, forecasting, budget setting, analysis, and ad hoc duties
  • To work effectively and cohesively in the team to and contribute to the wider objectives within the Development Directorate Function
  • Maintain monitoring systems as required to ensure a robust control environment is upheld and to safeguard the organisation's interests
  • To effectively manage a direct report and support them in achieving their objectives

 

Skills and experiences:

  • AAT qualification or working towards an ACCA, ACA, or CIMA professional qualification
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Experience of using financial systems e.g. SAP and BPC
  • Recent and relevant experience in a management accounting function/role
  • Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
  • Ability to interpret written instruction and maintain accurate records
