Housing Officer
Homeworking – Covering Swindon
£32,887 - £34,617 per year plus £600 car allowance
37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:00pm
We have an opportunity for a Housing Officer to join our Housing team based in Swindon. This will involve making sure that our properties are safe and attractive places to live and ensuring that tenancies are being conducted in a satisfactory way. This is a varied opportunity that will see you managing a range of situations and helping to build key relationships between Sanctuary Housing and our tenants, while consistently working in a professional manner to resolve problems and improve services.
The role of Housing Officer will include:
- Working closely with the lettings team in allocating Voids, Tenancy Sign Ups and Viewings
- Liaising with tenancy enforcement agencies to build relevant case files and manage the complaint process for the service area
- Handling a range of situations including complex cases of ASB (anti-social behaviour), which may include attending evictions and multi-agency crime prevention meetings.
- Attending various meetings to coordinate tenancy termination and changes, property clearance, and support tenancy auditing and fraud investigations
- Providing advice and support to residents through regular community engagement and signposting to relevant third party agencies
Skills and experiences:
- Proven experience of working within the social housing sector will be a distinct advantage in this role
- Knowledge of relevant housing regulations and legislation
- A basic understanding of Microsoft Office packages is desirable, along with the ability to update electronic systems
- Experience and knowledge of good practice resident involvement activities
- Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
