Domestic Assistant – Part Time


Fairfax Drive, Southend-on-Sea


£8.62 to £9.08 per hour (dependent on qualifications)


8 hours per week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings



We are seeking a Domestic Assistant to join our enthusiastic team and provide support to our scheme for Young Parents between the ages of 16-19.  Located in a quiet, residential area, Southend Young Parents Supported Housing has 10 bedrooms in a shared house. The role of Domestic Assistant will include:

  • Providing a personalised domestic service to tenants, fulfilling housekeeping and domestic tasks to meet tenants’ needs
  • Ensuring a clean, comfortable and safe environment is maintained in the communal areas
  • Having responsibility for the daily use of housekeeping equipment
  • Monitoring of stock levels and reordering of supplies

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience is not essential, however some experience of undertaking general housekeeping or domestic duties in a professional environment would be desirable
  • An approachable, caring and compassionate attitude is essential
  • An understanding of young people and their vulnerabilities
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Able to demonstrate a competent level of numeracy and literacy
