Housing Officer 

 

Rumsey House – Rochford

 

£17,265 per year (pro rata)

 

18.75 hours per week 2.5 days a week either Monday - Wednesday or Wednesday – Friday

 

Temporary position for up to 6 months

 

We have an opportunity for a hardworking and committed Housing Officer, who has sound knowledge of the local area, to join our team in Rochford, working alongside 8 other Housing Officers. This role is offered on a part time temporary basis until the end of May 2026.  You will be responsible for providing a high-quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community.

 

The job sits within Sanctuary Housing Services which manages homes across England, providing general rented housing, housing for older people, market rent properties, shared ownership and home ownership accommodation. It also provides housing related services including lettings, debt management, compliance, tenancy management and customer services support.                                                          

 

The role of Housing Officer will include:

  • Provide effective tenancy and resident management in line with the prescribed internal policies and good practices to build community cohesion
  • Meet all legislative and regulatory requirements for housing management activities, ensuring the provision of quality and safe homes for Sanctuary Housing Services' current and future customers and to minimise potential risks
  • Ensure the effective management of complaints in line with policy, focusing on first contact resolution and the identification of future learning opportunities to achieve customer service excellence
  • Develop, build and maintain relationships with current and future customers and other key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective management of housing management services, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensure these are acted upon
  • Support the service charge setting and scheme accounts production processes. Including ensuring that customer queries are investigated and responded to in a timely manner                       

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Proven experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
  • Proven experience of good practice resident involvement activities
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
  • Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
  • Experience of using housing management software
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
