Building Safety Manager

 

London (Office and Site Based)

 

£62,919 - £66,231 per year plus Company car or car allowance

 

35 hours per week

 

1 x Temporary position for up to 12 months, 2 x Permanent positions available

 

We have an opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to join our team of Building Safety managers based in London. The main purpose of this role is to manage the Building Safety function across allocated high-risk properties within the Sanctuary property portfolio, ensuring full and auditable compliance.

The role is primarily focused on buildings in scope of the Building Safety Act. This includes social housing in London, mainly in the East London area.

 

The role of Building Safety Manager will include:

  • Lead on the production, updating and submitting of the safety case report. This will include understanding how the building is constructed, to ensure that they are suitably designed and maintained to ensure resident safety
  • Identify, monitor and assess building safety risks in the building, including by working with internal fire and compliance teams
  • Working directly with residents, as well as those helping to keep them safe, such as on site staff and Housing Officers
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and technical guidance notes

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Level 4 or above in a relevant qualification, such as fire safety, construction, or surveying
  • Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management, or willing to work towards
  • Experience of risk management
  • Able to apply pragmatic approaches in resolving issues, and understanding legislation ensuring the safety of residents
  • Willing to ask questions and understand the unknown
  • Excellent customer and staff engagement
  • This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
