Hours as and when required - to cover the scheme but also the opportunity to cover the outreach visits (5-8am and 10pm to1am)

Your role

  • Support customers who have experienced homelessness to build independence and reach their potential
  • Assess needs and update support plans
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer queries
  • Build positive relationships that respect choice, privacy and dignity
  • Work with external partners to boost confidence, health and wellbeing, and encourage education and employment
  • Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is desirable

(This role is sometimes also referred to as Support Worker, Support Assistant, or Independent Living Assistant).

Your skills

  • Experience supporting adults who have experienced homelessness
  • Positive, flexible and enthusiastic approach
  • Able to work well in a team and independently
  • Strong organisational skills with good literacy and numeracy
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it
  • Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar)
