Senior Design Manager
Glasgow
£78,738 - £82,882 per year plus Company car or car allowance
37.5 hours per week
We are looking for an ambitious and highly driven individual with excellent technical knowledge and experience within the building industry to take on this exciting opportunity as Senior Design Manager. You will join a large Construction team within the wider Development team working primarily in Scotland with potential to work in London and the South East as well. The team are responsible for delivering new build and refurbishment residential development projects for Sanctuary.
The role of Senior Design Manager will include:
- Managing all projects through all aspects of design both pre-contract and post contract
- Working closely with the Development team to advise on planning and buildability
- Leading on the development and implementation of technical functions of construction projects, policies, procedures and systems
- Ensuring projects are carried out in agreement with design and quality standards and agreed budgets and ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory standards
- Regularly reviewing drawings and other technical documents for all construction projects
- Managing the control of documents between all stakeholders throughout all construction projects and collating and issuing final documents at the completion of projects
- Providing technical support and assistance for issues arising post completion
Skills and experiences:
- Good knowledge of all aspects of house building including roads and sewers, building control, planning and all different types of house building techniques
- HND in Building or Construction or other relevant discipline or knowledge and ability at an equivalent level
- Relevant Degree or knowledge and experience at an equivalent level
- Recent experience in undertaking a similar role within the new build housing and construction sectors
- Working knowledge of building regulations, legislation and current practice, including the practical application of Health and Safety legislation
- Proven experience of managing projects with strong project management skills
- Ability to interpret computerised information, technical drawings and other technical documentation
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

- £78,738 per annum (rising to £82,882 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
The full time equivalent salary for this role is £73,489 based on 35 hours per week rising to £77,357 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
