Landscape Technician Charge Hand
Ely based covering surrounding areas
£27,964 - £29,436 per year
40 hours per week
8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday
We have an opportunity for a Landscape Technician Charge Hand to join our team based in Ely and covering the surrounding areas. For this role you will be expected to provide an effective estate maintenance service and supervisory support that meets contract and customer expectations applying appropriate horticultural practices. Predominantly working as part of a double-up team but some lone working will be required.
The role sits within our Property Services division, who are responsible for delivering high quality and cost effective property repairs, compliance and installation and estate services across the UK to mainly internal clients and additionally a small number of external clients.
The role of Landscape Technician Charge Hand will include:
- Provide supervisory support in keeping estates well maintained and clean in accordance with grounds maintenance contract specifications and appropriate horticultural practices
- General grounds maintenance such as grass cutting, weeding, strimming, hedge trimming, bulk collections, litter picking and spraying
- Provide accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations in accordance with contract specifications and escalate complaints as appropriate
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks
Skills and experiences:
- NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline
- Pesticide Application Certificate PA1 – PA6 (or equivalent)
- Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
- Some practical experience of operating machinery
- Some experience interpreting written instruction and maintaining simple written records
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
