Development Manager

 

Flexible office location based within either the North, Midlands or East region with a balance of home and office working

 

£57,852 - £60,897 per year

 

35 hours per week

 

We are looking for an experienced Development Manager to assist in our ambition to develop in the region of 1500 new build homes each year across England and Scotland. The Development Manager, based either in the North, Midlands or East region will deliver and support the management of development programmes which include affordable homes, market sale and older persons housing.

 

The role of Development Manager will include:

  • Implementing strategies, including site acquisition and direct management of key projects
  • Securing new development opportunities to support Business Plan objectives
  • Ensuring all work is completed within budget and within all compliance and regulatory terms
  • Managing the full development process from feasibility, internal approvals, acquisition, procurement and project management delivery of open market and affordable homes

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Up to date working knowledge of development project management with previous experience in a similar role, undertaking brownfield and greenfield site delivery
  • Proven experience of people management and support of their personal development
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to build rapport and develop productive and effective relationships with key partners and stakeholders
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent substantive experience
  • Experience and knowledge of project management and cost control
  • Proficient user of MS Office suite applications essential, and experience with SAP and Development Financial Appraisals / reporting systems is desirable
  • Excellent team working skills
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
  • Experience in the delivery of older persons housing, including residential care, would be beneficial but not essential.
