Project Worker – Part Time

 

Nickleby Road, Chelmsford

 

£9.66 per hour (rising to £10.17 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

 

25 hours per week

 

 

We are seeking a Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Nickleby Road and Berwick Avenue provide support for adults with learning disabilities, through short-term accommodation and support to help build independent living skills. One of the key roles of the Project Worker is helping with tenancy sustainment, employment and budgeting. This is a rewarding role and a fantastic opportunity to join our small, well established team.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Supporting our residents with daily living skills such as cooking, shopping, budgeting, helping them with claiming benefits and searching for education/employment opportunities
  • Safeguarding residents and communicating ways for them to keep themselves safe and who to report to
  • Completing Health and Safety checks within the service
  • Reviewing Risk Assessments to support reduce or eliminate risks and work through person-centred support plans with the residents
  • Actively encouraging choice and involvement with day to day life skills such as social interaction within the community

Skills and experiences:

  • A sound knowledge of housing management, including voids and arrears management, is essential
  • You will be a team player but also have the initiative and ability to work on your own
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build strong working relationships
  • An understanding of occupancy agreements is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
  • A full, current driving licence is desirable
