Building Safety Coordinator
Chester covering the North, North West and Midlands
£32,244 - £33,941 per year plus Company car allowance
35 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Building Safety Co-ordinator to join our Building Safety Services team, this role will be flexible with a mixture of being office based, carrying out site visits & home working. The team is responsible for implementing change within the business to meet requirements of the Building Safety Act. The key focus will be on creating a Building Safety Case for all our high-rise buildings in scope which will ensure they are fit for occupation and safe for our residents.
The role of Building Safety Coordinator will include:
- Working closely with the Building Safety Manager, attending our high-rise properties, monitoring and assuring maintenance, repairs, remodelling and service work
- Reviewing building specific information such as Fire Risk Assessments, Structural Surveys and Maintenance Inspections
- Monitoring building safety remedial works and supporting internal maintenance teams to assist with completion
- Ensuring compliance with Government legislation, Health and Safety legislation and Group policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain sufficient knowledge of current building safety legislation to provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders and customers
- Assist in gathering, monitoring, and recording relevant information required for Building Safety Cases to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act
- Review building safety processes, identifying and implementing process improvements ensuring they are followed by colleagues and residents and recorded in line with Group policy and procedure
Skills and experiences:
- Willing to undertake a level 4 qualification in fire safety to support them in the role
- A passion for resident safety and engaging with customers to improve their experience
- Experience working within a residential or social housing setting, working to improve customer safety
- Must be committed to regular and ongoing CPD related to building safety
- Working knowledge of the application of building regulations, legislation, and current practice
- Proven experience of carrying out onsite inspections, identifying, and working with stakeholders to manage risk
- Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving license

- Role salary is £32,244 per annum (rising to £33,941 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
