Internal Quality Assurer


Homeworking – Based in North West of England


£29,788 - £31,356 per year


35 hours per week


We are seeking an Internal Quality Assurer to support employees working towards vocational qualifications in Health and Social Care. Experienced in the field as a Quality Assurer and Assessor, you will be delivering Assessment and Verification services by operating within the appropriate policies and procedures, participating in standardisation events and assess quality assure care qualifications up to level 5.


Other relevant qualifications essential for this role are as follows:

D32,33,34 – V1 or Scottish equivalent D9, D9i or A1 and V1. Health and social care management qualification at level 2,3,4 or 5. Care service leadership or equivalent.


The role of Internal Quality Assurer will include:

  • Assess a caseload of 20 – 25 candidates and verify a caseload of about the same
  • Visit learners to complete observations
  • Holding remote sessions via teams to support candidates with their reflective accounts
  • Verifying work for VARCS (valid, authentic, realistic, current and sufficient) requirements and providing feeding back to assessor on judgements made
  • Working towards completion targets to enable us to achieve our targets of 200 learners per year for the team
  • Undertaking internal quality assurance checks of assessments for Vocational Awards
  • Assisting with the coordination, communication and maintenance of relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Supporting the development of quality staff by coaching and mentoring others, you will also be responsible for ensuring the required skilled staff are available to meet awarding body requirements and business needs
  • Ensuring accurate records are maintained on progress and completions


Skills and experiences:

  • NVQ3 or equivalent in relevant discipline and a Vocational Assessors award and Internal Verifiers award (A1/V1) or equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate maintenance of Continuous Professional Development
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice principles
  • Professional experience in disciplines relevant to the NVQ’s being delivered
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work loads
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

  • Role salary is £24,946 with an additional policy allowance of £4,842 per annum (rising to £26,259 with an additional policy allowance of £5,096 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
