Infrastructure Architect - Network Services

 

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

 

£61,105 - £64,321 per year

We have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Architect - Network Services with experience of working in an enterprise Infrastructure environment, to join our Technology team at our head office in Worcester. We offer hybrid working for this role with the opportunity to work from home 2 days per week.

 

You will be integral to the future direction and design of Infrastructure services ensuring the integration of new technologies and cloud services, providing governance over their implementation.

 

Operating as a subject matter expert for delivery and operational teams, you will support in the introduction of new technologies and capabilities, identifying where new approaches and techniques could be applied to the existing platforms and producing high and low-level technical designs working closely with delivery teams to see the designs through to implementation.

 

The role of Infrastructure Architect - Network Services will include:

  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive infrastructure architecture blueprints and roadmaps
  • Ensuring designs align with business objectives and technical requirements
  • Evaluating emerging technologies and tools, and providing recommendations for adoption
  • Leading the implementation of infrastructure projects
  • Working closely with application development, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and processes
  • Monitoring and analysing infrastructure performance
  • Ensuring that infrastructure solutions are designed and implemented with a strong focus on security best practices and compliance requirements
  • Managing relationships with third-party vendors and service providers

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Comprehensive experience in Architect design of WAN, SDWAN. VOIP and campus Network solutions including both physically connected and Wi-Fi technologies
  • Comprehensive experience and qualifications in Network infrastructure technologies
  • Qualifications in Cloud Network Solutions is desirable
  • Proven experience of designing and implementing improvements to Network infrastructure services
  • Proven experience of managing medium and large scale Network infrastructure related projects
  • Strong planning, organisational and communication skills with the ability to adapt style and language depending on the audience
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and presentation skills
  • Excellent project management skills

  • Role salary is £53,134 with an additional policy allowance of £7,970 per annum (rising to £55,931 with an additional policy allowance of £8,389 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
