Finance Business Partner – Service Charges

 

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

 

£40,715 - £46,719 per year

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our Service Charge team based in Worcester. The team of 40 is responsible for completing the calculations of service charges and associated activities. As Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for assisting in the development of improved processes within the service charge team to achieve ongoing improvements in data accuracy and better response times to internal and external customers.

 

We are looking for someone with relevant experience in a previous service charge role who has knowledge of different systems including SAP and in particular real estate modules. With detailed knowledge of all aspects of service charge processes including sinking funds, you will be using Excel on a daily basis so advanced knowledge of macros and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is desirable.  

 

The role of Finance Business Partner – Service Charges will include:

  • Ensuring the maintenance, accuracy, and completeness of financial records within timely deadlines and responsible for month end processes and procedures
  • Preparing and providing accurate financial information in the form of management account packs, bridge reports, balance sheet reconciliations, headcount reconciliations, variance analysis, forecasting and expert advice tailored to the individual needs of internal customers and key stakeholders within a timely manner and strict deadlines
  • Preparing, producing, and analysing annual budgets, making informed decisions when required to ensure the organisation’s financial interests are safeguarded by ensuring the budget is realistic and achievable
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with all key stakeholders, ensuring issues and shortfalls are addressed accordingly
  • Reviewing processes to ensure on going best practice and continuous improvement, providing recommendations or alternatives where required, whilst achieving Group values and objectives

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification
  • Experience of undertaking a similar role including preparing management accounts and reporting packs
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively, to meet conflicting deadlines
  • Experience of interrogating/analysing data, identifying errors and correcting these
  • Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills and the ability to present information in a clear layout
  • Some experience of managing staff
  • Great communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate information effectively at all levels
  • Knowledge of financial systems e.g. SAP and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • If working towards qualification £36,680 per annum with an additional policy allowance of £4,034 per annum (rising to £38,611 with an additional policy allowance of £4,247 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
  • If fully qualified £40,715 per annum (with an additional policy allowance of £3,668 per annum (rising to £42,858 per annum with an additional policy allowance of £3,861 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
