Deputy Local Service Manager – Part Time

Tony Long House, Swindon

£19,474 (rising to £20,499 after 12 months service, subject to satisfactory performance) Actual pro rata salary

30 hours per week – requirement for working two Sundays a month


We are seeking a Deputy Local Service Manager to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Tony Long House is a residential home for six adults with physical disabilities. The role of Deputy Local Service Manager will include:

  • Managing, recruiting, developing and training staff within appropriate legislative or NVQ frameworks
  • Promoting best practice within the team by monitoring relationships with clients, relatives and visitors
  • Maintaining effective and fully compliant care and support systems
  • Preparing, promoting and coordinating care plans, organising effective staff rotas in line with this
  • Working effectively with key stakeholders, including local councils, to develop existing services when necessary to reflect the needs of the local population and commissioner

Skills and experiences:

  • Proven management or supervisory experience gained within a social care environment is essential
  • Compassionate, caring and hard working with a hands-on approach to care management
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • An understanding of CQC standards and of putting them into practice
  • NVQ / QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable
  • Proven track record of developing meaningful relationships with clients and staff
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding practice and data protection laws
