Mobile Working – covering Dorset and Hampshire
£32,242 - £35,636 per year
37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:00pm
This role is for a Housing Officer within our Independent Living service, responsible for providing services to our residents in aged-defined accommodation across the areas of Dorset and Hampshire. The role will involve the management of a team of Scheme Managers who look after the day to day running of their schemes, as well as providing local tenancy and estate-based services to our customers.
The role of Housing Officer will include:
- Responsibility for a patch consisting of specialist housing for customers over 55 years of age, across multiple sites
- Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases and complaints about service delivery
- Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
- Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
- Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
- Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
- Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting tenant welfare including domestic abuse; anti-social behaviour; and safeguarding
- Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes, which can include tenancy conversions; permissions; mutual exchanges; successions; service charges; and enforcement of tenancy breaches
Skills and experiences:
- Proven experience of undertaking a similar role and preferably will hold a CIH level 3 qualification
- Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
- Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
- Excellent communication and customer care skills
- Excellent understanding of written and spoken English
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
- Regular travel will be a requirement of the role. Therefore, a full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential

Role Salary is dependent on successful candidate’s home location/ local office base as below:
- South East region - £33,854 per annum (rising to £35,636 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
- Elsewhere in the UK - £32,242 per annum (rising to £33,939 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
