Multi – Trade Operative

 

Rochford, Chelmsford, Colchester - covering various sites in the South East region

 

£35,387 - £37,249 per year

 

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

 

We have a great opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Responsive team, based in Rochford Essex. The role will involve working on repairs for both void and tenanted properties and will cover all aspects of general building repairs and maintenance including Kitchens, Bathrooms, low level access showers, fencing and repair/replacement of new UPVC Doors & Windows. You would also be expected to carry out damp and mould treatments. The role is mainly lone working with opportunities to work with the wider team as and when required. You will be expected to travel to numerous sites. A company van and power tools included. Training will be provided as and when required.

 

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

  • Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition
  • Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
  • Required to be part of our Out of Hours emergency cover on a rota. This is normally 1 in every 10 weeks (enhancement paid)

 

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (wet trades, carpentry, joinery, plumbing), or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
  • Skills in some of the following disciplines – Wet Trade, Plumbing, Carpentry, Joinery, UPVC door and window fitting would be an advantage but not essential
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

 

As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
