Multi-Trade Chargehand

 

Paignton – covering the South West region

 

£34,939 - £36,778 per year

 

40 hours per week

 

We are seeking a proactive and organised Chargehand to join our dynamic response repairs team in the South West region, covering Cornwall and Paignton. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Service Delivery Manager in the day-to-day running of our responsive team, helping to manage engineers, plumbers, carpenters, and electricians, ensuring targets are met and work is delivered to the highest standard. You will help oversee the smooth running of operations, providing guidance and support to the team while ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.

 

The role of Multi-Trade Chargehand will include:

  • Assisting with the daily management of a team and overseeing repairs and refurbishment of properties, ensuring they are carried out to a high standard
  • Inspecting works completed to ensure these represent value for money e.g. efficient use of materials
  • Ensuring H&S policies and procedures are followed on site, maintaining compliance for health and safety
  • Ordering materials, and liaising with suppliers for material availability
  • Ensuring works are completed to KPI targets and financial recovery for completed void works
  • Maintaining good morale for the team and encouraging high levels of performance

 

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a core subject. NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing if plumbing is core, currently undertaking the qualification or prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group 
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role supervising staff
  • Good communication, interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Basic skills in use of Microsoft office, Excel, Outlook and Word
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

 

As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications.  Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
