Bank Support Assistant


Bransby Court, Middlesbrough


£9.22 per hour (rising to £9.50 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)


Hours as and when required – Shifts to be worked 7 days per week between 8am and 8pm



Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.


We are seeking a Bank Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents by encouraging them to maximise their potential and live more independently within their community. Bransby Court in Middlesbrough is a supported housing service which provides support and advice for those with a range of mental health issues and complex needs.

The role of Bank Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing a high quality, personalised care and support service
  • Encouraging residents to develop their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
  • Offering advice to build the confidence that residents need to gain further independence
  • Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our residents


Skills and experiences:

  • Ideally you will have experience of working with vulnerable people, however candidates with a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply, as we are committed to delivering a tailored training programme
  • A caring, approachable nature and a confident ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
  • Initiative will also be key to your success, as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow independence to be maximised
