Maintenance Caretaker

 

Marybone Student Village, Liverpool

 

£21,543 - £22,677 per year 

 

37.5 hours per week – shift pattern on a three-week rolling rota

 

 

We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Caretaker to work across our student accommodation sites based in Liverpool. The ideal candidate will have recent experience working in a maintenance role completing minor maintenance repairs and site housekeeping tasks within a residential setting. Working alongside individual teams and taking instructions from the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for providing a safe and well maintained environment for student residents. You will work as part of a team of eleven members of staff, alongside three Maintenance Caretakers, on a three week rolling rota, which includes weekends, evening and bank holidays.

 

The role of Maintenance Caretaker will include:

  • Reacting to maintenance duties across the site, undertaking repairs and reporting issues which require specialist attention
  • Undertaking building checks and audits to maintain a safe and secure environment in line with health and safety requirements
  • Carrying out routine works and providing accurate and timely information on progress
  • Maintaining an adequate supply of stock and replenishing as appropriate
  • Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and cleanliness of communal areas is maintained
  • Minor redecoration as and when required

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience within a caretaking or maintenance role is essential
  • Practical skills in identifying and /or carrying out standard repairs
  • Working knowledge of health and safety
  • Good communication skills allowing you to provide great customer service
  • Ability to interpret written instructions, maintain simple written records and assess priorities to then a plan work schedule effectively
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

The full time equivalent salary for this role is £22,921 based on 40 hours per week rising to £24,127 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
