Support Assistant – Part Time

Wyngarth Court, Lancaster

£8.28 per hour (rising to £8.72 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance) - Subject to April 2019 pay review

20 hours per week – Monday to Friday, to include some weekends


We are seeking a Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Wyngarth Court specialises in providing expert support for 12 clients with predominantly mental health needs. You will become a member of our collaborative team to manage clients and their case-specific levels of need. The role of Support Assistant will include

  • Working collaboratively with team members to manage a caseload of clients
  • Supporting Project Workers to deliver client based support plans
  • Ensuring that clients are supported by developing their daily living skills such as cooking, managing finances, shopping and being part of their community
  • Providing emotional support to clients i.e. talking through any concerns the client may have
  • Carrying out regular health and safety checks with the help of clients and supporting clients to maintain a clean living environment
  • Keeping accurate, up-to-date documents of support sessions, highlighting any areas for concern and reporting these appropriately
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our clients

Skills and experiences

  • Ideally you will have experience of working within mental health, however candidates with enthusiasm and a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply as we are committed to delivering a tailored training program
  • Ability to adapt quickly to certain situations
  • A warm personality with the ability to build rapport with people
