Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

 

We are seeking a Bank Assistant Chef to work alongside the Chef Manager, to prepare a varied set of quality menus, to have an active input on nutritious and healthy menu choices, ensuring the dietary requirements of our residents are met.

Our supported living service supports 24 people with mental health needs and/or dementia in a homely environment with personalised care and support. Are you kind, patient and understanding? We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. The role of Bank Assistant Chef will include:

  • Assisting with the planning and creation of nutritionally balanced meals for our residents
  • Promoting and monitoring food hygiene and safety standards
  • Carrying out risk assessments and cleaning the kitchen to a high standard
  • Assisting with the supervision and development of staff

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working in a catering environment
  • A valid food hygiene certificate is essential
  • NVQ2 in Hospitality & Catering
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Proven knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • Excellent cooking skills with an understanding of produce and ingredients
  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills
