Senior EA and Quantity Surveyor


Homeworking – covering Chelmsford area


£52,438 - £60,718 per year dependent on location


plus Company car or car allowance


35 hours per week


We have an opportunity for a Senior EA and Quantity Surveyor to join our Employer’s Agent Consultancy team, that sits within the wider Development function. The team is responsible for cost planning, tendering construction projects, negotiating contract terms with contractors, compiling contract documents and administering on site construction contracts for the company’s ongoing Development programme.


The ideal candidate will be a senior professional, with a significant number of years’ experience in the construction industry. You will be expected to work with minimum supervision and be generally home based, serving projects within the London and South East areas of the country.


The role of Senior EA and Quantity Surveyor will include:

  • Manage the contract administration of Design and Build construction projects
  • Chairing progress meetings
  • Carrying out interim valuations and issuing contract instructions
  • Assessing contractual claims and managing information flow
  • Liaising with internal and external Stakeholders and other departments within the company


Skills and experiences:

  • A relevant BSc degree qualification and ideally a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS), or working towards Chartership
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Experience working within a professional consultancy or a similar organisation to Sanctuary, as a Contract Administrator, Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience in the construction of a variety of building types, with particular experience in residential properties, Care Homes and student accommodation being desirable
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
