£11.14

 

30 and 25 hours per week available

We are seeking an experienced Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Nickleby Road and Berwick Avenue provide support for adults with learning disabilities, through short-term accommodation and support to help build independent living skills.

 

This is a rewarding role and a fantastic opportunity to join our small, well-established team.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Regularly assessing the needs of residents by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Supporting residents in their day to day living i.e. with cooking and cleaning
  • Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Assisting residents with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the residents and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Completing health and safety checks within the service
  • Safeguarding residents and advising them how to keep themselves safe, and who to report to in times of concern
     

Skills and experiences:

  • Our ideal candidate has an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, and has experience working with clients with learning disabilities
  • You will be a team player but also have the initiative and ability to work on your own
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build strong working relationships
  • An understanding of occupancy agreements is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
