Project Worker – Part Time


Avalon House, Cannock


£9.20 per hour (rising to £9.69 after 12 months service, subject to satisfactory performance)


19 hours per week



We are seeking a Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Avalon House is a small scheme with 6 self contained flats, offering support to 6 residents with mental health and or learning disabilities. We provide a minimum of three hours of personal care and support a week to vulnerable adults with low to medium support needs.  Our structured package of tailored support uses the Star Model to agree a personalised support plan helping residents to identify their needs and aspirations.  If you want to make a positive impact to people’s lives, this is a fabulous opportunity to come and work within an established and experienced scheme.


The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Regular key working and support planning sessions to ensure relevant support is provided, enabling our residents to maximise their own potential and encourage a level of independence
  • Ensuring independent living tasks, such as shopping and cooking are completed
  • Making sure health care appointments are up to date and supporting residents to attend them
  • Supporting residents with benefit application and management
  • Liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of residents
  • Managing any safeguarding or serious incidents
  • Supporting other members of staff when they have problems or concerns
  • Support with review / tenancy meetings

Skills and experiences:

  • The ability to work on your own initiative as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow residents’ independence to be enhanced 
  • Previous experience working with people who have experienced mental health issues and/ or learning disabilities, would be an advantage
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to keep accurate records
