Female Care and Support Worker - Part Time

Rosary Priory, Bushey

£8.03 to £8.59 per hour (dependent on qualifications)

29.5 hours per week – Shift pattern below


Shifts – Monday and Tuesday afternoon 15:00 – 22:00, Sunday afternoon 14:00 – 22:00 and Wednesday night 22:00 – 07:00

We are currently seeking a female Care and Support Worker who will make a real difference to the lives of our 9 elderly sisters based at the Rosary Priory convent.  You will use your skills to work with colleagues to provide a person-centred service and achieve the best outcome for our clients. If you want to make a positive impact to people’s lives, this is a rewarding opportunity to come and work within an established and experienced team.

The role of Care and Support Worker will include:

  • Providing personal care to our sisters
  • Assisting with administering medication
  • Cleaning communual areas of the convent
  • Providing refreshments for the sisters
  • Occasionally you will need  to escort the sisters to GP/hospital appointments
  • Helping sisters with activities
  • On the night shift, the main duties are carrying out check calls on the 9 sisters and doing ironing and laundry

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience in a similar care-related role is desirable, however we can consider applicants with a caring and compassionate nature
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities whilst working to deadlines and targets
  • An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
