Housing Officer – Part Time

 

Mobile Working – Covering Hampshire from Basingstoke to Portsmouth

 

£25,793 - £28,508 per year

 

30 hours per week – Tuesday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:00pm

 

We are looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join our Housing Operations team. As a Housing Officer you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community.

 

The role will involve visiting properties across the region and working with colleagues across different service areas to address a number of issues which could pose risks to the welfare of our residents and the condition of our properties. These include repairs, property neglect, sublet and abandoned properties, hoarding and anti-social behaviour. The role of Housing Officer will include:

  • Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases
  • Collaboration with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
  • Managing tenant expectations about repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
  • Managing complaints about service delivery
  • Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
  • Providing general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
  • Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting tenant welfare including domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour and safeguarding)
  • Working with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management process including tenancy conversions, permissions, mutual exchanges, successions and service charges
  • Enforcement of tenancy breaches

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Recent experience undertaking a similar role and a passion for supporting tenancy sustainment and working with vulnerable people
  • Proven experience of delivering high quality tenancy and customer service
  • Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions ideally with experience of this in relation to anti-social behaviour
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
  • An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook is essential and knowledge of SAP, ReACT and Radar would be advantageous
  • Experience of working in a job share role and understanding the importance of detailed record-keeping, taking ownership of allocated work and supporting a job share partner would be advantageous
  • Travel will be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

  • South East salary is £27,083 per annum (rising to £28,508 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
  • National salary is £25,793 per annum (rising to £27,151 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

 

South East - The full time equivalent salary for this role is £33,854 based on 37.5 hours per week rising to £35,636 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance

 

National - The full time equivalent salary for this role is £32,242 based on 37.5 hours per week rising to £33,939 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
