Caretaker – Part Time

Rachel House and Banbury Foyer – Banbury

£9.18 per hour (rising to £9.66 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

21 hours per week

 

We are seeking a Caretaker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Rachel House and Banbury Foyer both work to provide supported housing to single young parents, aged 16-25 and their children. Across both schemes Sanctuary Supported Living manages 38 bedsits, with 11 bedsits located at Rachel House, and 27 self contained units based at Banbury Foyer. The role of Caretaker will include:

  • Carrying out weekly health and safety checks and risk assessments, adhering to relevant regulations and guidelines
  • General caretaking duties to include; basic repairs, cleaning, landscaping and grounds maintenance
  • Maintaining an adequate supply of tools and equipment and restocking as necessary, to enable the effective delivery of services
  • Completing accurate daily work records and providing timely updates to customers
  • Identifying potential maintenance issues and reporting these in a timely manner, to maintain a safe environment

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience in a similar caretaking or maintenance role is essential
  • Ability to identify and/or carry out minor repairs
  • An understanding of basic health and safety in the work place
  • Practical experience in operating hand tools and light machinery is desirable
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and organisational skills are key to this role
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
