Technology Service Continuity Lead


Worcester based with a balance of home and office working


£53,483 - £56,298 per year


35 hours per week


We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Continuity Lead to join our Technology Platforms Team, the team provides 3rd line incident resolution and problem management support and delivers change across technologies such as Microsoft 365, Network and Telephony, Data Centre and Hosting Operations and leads on the provision of IT Disaster Recovery frameworks and governance. The team currently consists of c.20 employees.


In the role of Technology Service Continuity Lead you will lead, manage and develop IT Disaster Recovery and Resiliency Planning including DR strategies, annual program agendas and recovery improvement metrics as well as developing appropriate tools, frameworks and good practice processes in line with Group objectives. You will take an active role in ensuring IT DR and Business Continuity is continually improved as part of our ambitious transformation agenda and is fit for purpose as part of our Cyber and broader incident response procedures.


The role of Technology Service Continuity Lead will include:

  • Leading, managing and developing IT Service Continuity planning across our organisation in collaboration with Business Continuity Management and all key stakeholders
  • Support the evolution of all existing IT Service Management and governance processes to ensure IT Service Continuity is embedded throughout everything that we do
  • Working across the Technology Teams ensuring that IT Service Continuity frameworks are applied consistently and are aligned with Business Continuity Management and Cyber Security Response processes
  • Develop and maintain ITSCM Testing Strategies and schedules in line with critical business operational areas, providing key performance indicators and regular reporting to Technology Leadership and senior stakeholders across Sanctuary
  • Working across all business operational areas in collaboration with Business Continuity Management providing guidance and supporting strategies to continually improve business continuity plans
  • Prepare, analyse and report information for the Executive Committee, senior management teams and other stakeholders to support the development of the ITCSM and BCM programmes, develop and maintain key performance indicators relating to Service Continuity Management


Skills and experiences:

  • Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification
  • ITIL v3.0 or above
  • Comprehensive experience in implementing IT Disaster Recovery frameworks and plans
  • Working knowledge of Technology Infrastructure and Applications, Backup and Recovery tools and techniques
  • The ability to organise and communicate effectively and work across hybrid technology architectures, multiple projects and people and with 3rd party suppliers.
  • Comprehensive experience in defining, implementing and enforcing risk-based standards, processes and procedures for responding to disruptions in business or IT operations. Thorough working knowledge and understanding of current IT Service Continuity Management planning techniques and technologies including methods used to perform risk and business impact analysis.

  • Role salary is £49,126 with an additional policy allowance of £4,357 per annum (rising to £51,711 with an additional policy allowance of £4,586 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
