Technology Application Specialist


Worcester based with a balance of home and office working


£40,760 - £42,905 per year


35 hours per week


We are recruiting for an experienced Technology Application Specialist to join our dynamic Business Applications team. We manage a portfolio of over 80 applications for the Sanctuary group, covering a broad range of business activities. We are a team of 7, part of a 150 strong Technology department supporting over 13,000 users.


The role of Application Specialist will include:

  • Providing technical expertise to a range of projects from small enhancements to new implementations
  • Delivering continual service improvement through automation, adoption of best practice; and new technologies
  • Working closely with vendors and key business partners in the continual development and improvement of our applications estate
  • Ensuring effective appraisal of new technologies and the suitability in meeting company needs, including scalability and performance
  • Maintaining, upgrading and monitoring enterprise scale applications
  • Managing third line support incidents, working with other teams in the department and third parties where required


Skills and experiences:

  • Demonstratable experience of the management of Enterprise scale Business Applications
  • Windows server management (Windows server 2012 and later) in a virtualised environment
  • Windows Web server configuration and management (IIS, Tomcat)
  • Experience using Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSMS)
  • Knowledge and experience of the Microsoft ‘Power’ platform and Dynamics 365 would be advantageous
  • Skilled in working with large business applications and data management systems, including configuration (Finance, Property/Asset Management, HR, reporting)
  • Strong planning, organisational and communication skills with the ability to adapt style and language depending on the audience

  • Role salary is £33,913 with an additional policy allowance of £6,847 per annum (rising to £35,698 with an additional policy allowance of £7,207 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
