Senior Health and Safety Business Advisor (Care and Supported Living)

 

Worcester

 

£46,760 per annum (rising to £49,221 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance) – Company car or car allowance

 

35 hours per week

The Senior Health and Safety Business Advisor will join an established team of Health and Safety and Fire Safety practitioners within the Health and Safety function in Corporate Services. You will be engaging with staff and managers within the Care and Supported Living business areas in order to support the delivery of care services. This is an exciting opportunity to provide Health and Safety advice for our staff across our Care and Supported Living areas of the business, working alongside our training team and fire technicians.

 

The role of Senior Health and Safety Business Advisor will include:

  • Delivering audits and inspections of Care Homes and Supported Living schemes and handling the associated processes, paperwork and reporting functions
  • Managing a team of Health and Safety Advisors, providing guidance and support, handling regular 1-to-1’s and promoting the development of staff
  • Attending management team meetings and providing data and relevant updates
  • Planning and arranging projects on targeted safety improvements and implementing and supporting improvements
  • Managing the maintenance required to retain ISO certification for health and safety in multiple business areas

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Proven experience in a similar health and safety role within a relevant care or supported living setting
  • Level 3 or above qualification in health and safety and a member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
  • Excellent working knowledge of the health and safety issues relevant to a care and supported living setting
  • Ability to demonstrate the capability of managing a team to deliver a programme of activities
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
