Senior Finance Officer


Worcester based with an anticipated balance of home and office working


£25,430 per annum inclusive of policy allowance (rising to £26,769 per annum inclusive of policy allowance after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)


35 hours per week


We have an opportunity for a Senior Finance Officer to join our Service Charge team in Worcester. The team are responsible for administering scheme accounts and budgets for the Group. As Senior Finance Officer you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to the customer to support decision-making and business planning. This is a great opportunity for a pro-active, responsible individual to progress their career and develop their management accountant and organisational skills.


The role of Senior Finance Officer will include:

  • Providing accurate and timely financial information whilst maintaining effective financial systems, to support decision making and business planning
  • Completing annual scheme accounts cycle and dealing with external auditors
  • Providing an effective administration service ensuring workloads are manageable in line with business requirements
  • Identifying areas for improvement and shortfalls in service delivery and recommending actions to remedy this, as appropriate
  • Supporting other colleagues within the team to maintain high levels of productivity
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders


Skills and experiences:

  • AAT qualified (or working towards this)
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
  • Some experience analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Working knowledge of financial regulations, legislation and current practice
  • Able to work to deadlines and priorities work loads
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Experience of using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook

Role salary is £24,219 with an additional policy allowance of £1,210 per annum (rising to £25,494 with an additional policy allowance of £1,274 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
