Senior Finance Officer - Capital

 

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

 

£24,946 - £26,259 per year

 

35 hours per week

 

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our Capital Accounting team, based in Worcester. The Capital Accounting team consists of 12 people who are responsible for the company’s fixed assets register and the production of relevant notes for the statutory accounts.

 

The role of Senior Finance Officer - Capital will include:

  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register including additions, disposals and transfers
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Period end reporting to strict deadlines
  • Ensuring month end data accuracy for reporting for Reinvestment and Depreciation
  • Month end accruals and adjustments for Capital
  • Providing guidance to the wider business on the company’s capitalisation policy, including education pieces to the wider group
  • Supporting improvement of data quality and continuous improvement of reporting
  • Assist in the production of statutory financial information for year end audit
  • Maintaining relationships with other areas of the business including Development Finance, Property Services and CSC

 

Skills and experiences:

  • AAT / part qualification ACCA / CIMA
  • Previous experience with SAP
  • Previous experience in a similar role within finance
  • Proficient user of Microsoft 365 applications, specifically intermediate / advanced Excel skills
  • Highly numerate and accurate with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing tasks to tight deadlines
  • Problem solving and implementing solutions
  • Previous experience of asset accounting
