Senior Finance Manager – Group Reporting

The job sits within Group Financial Services which is responsible for all aspects of accounting for the Group.  Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting the role will entail managing the Capital Accounting team, which sits within Group Finance, as well as working closely with the Financial Accounting Team.   This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual likely to be seeking their second move in industry to take the strategic lead on projects and process improvements.   

 

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a problem solving attitude and a strong desire to implement continuous improvements in our core processes, and flexibility to get involved in a number of critical projects.  As a senior member of the Capital Accounting team, this role will include managing a team, as well as being involved in wider team delivery and initiatives. This wider role will provide the opportunity to collaborate widely and develop solutions for new business or reporting requirements.

 

The role of Senior Finance Manager – Group Reporting will include:

  • Working across the capital accounting reporting function, providing technical and financial accounting expertise, including statutory, month-end and regulatory reporting
  • Contribute towards process improvements and optimisation of systems
  • Be a primary point of contact for the Group’s external auditors
  • Work closely with other departments, such as the group’s development function
  • Take ownership of statutory reporting for fixed assets, inventory and related disclosures for the group and its subsidiaries
  • Ensure regularity returns are accurately prepared and submitted on time
  • Assess the impact of new accounting standards
  • Prepare accounting papers for senior management
  • Reviewing financial controls and driving process improvements across the group
  • Developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders, particularly Heads of Finance and the senior management team

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will be a practice trained Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a minimum of one commercial role post practice
  • Possess strong financial reporting experience with a demonstrable track record of managing a financial services function in a large, complex organisation
  • Comprehensive understanding of reporting under IFRS, FRS101 and FRS102 accounting standards
  • An experienced manager with the ability to lead, motivate and mentor with enthusiasm and provide clear direction
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand and manage complex accounting and reporting activities
  • Skilled at actively building and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with stakeholders including senior management
