Senior Finance Business Partner


Worcester based with a balance of home and office working


£40,056 - £48,489 per year


35 hours per week


We are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Student and Commercial Finance team based at our office in Worcester. The job sits within Group Financial Services which is responsible for all aspects of accounting for Sanctuary. This includes the provision of financial and management accounting services, financial analysis, preparation of annual budgets, treasury, tax and VAT management


The Senior Finance Business Partner will join a team of 9 within the wider Financial Services function. The team manage financial reporting for the Students, Keyworkers and Commercial portfolios, including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash postings and debt management. The Senior Finance Business Partner will be ambitious and enjoy a varied role within a busy and supportive team.


The role of Senior Finance Business Partner will include:

  • Producing and analysing accurate and timely management and statutory accounting information for internal and external stakeholders
  • Undertaking various types of analytical work around the financials to further support the business needs and add value
  • Working very closely and confidently with Operational teams
  • Leading with the facilitation of the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for the directorate
  • Managing and leading a small team
  • Managing the debt management process
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with all key stakeholders, ensuring issues and shortfalls are addressed and resolved
  • Contributing to projects and change programs


Skills and experiences:

  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA professional qualification
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role with the ability to give sound financial advice promoting good financial decision making
  • Robust experience of accounting regulations, legislation and current practice
  • Proven experience of using financial systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook

  • If a fully qualified Accountant role salary is £40,056 with an additional policy allowance of £6,008 per annum (rising to £42,165 with an additional policy allowance of £6,324 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
