Finance Manager

 

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

 

£47,695 - £50,205 per year

 

35 hours per week

 

We are looking to appoint a Finance Manager to join our Property Services Finance team at head office, Worcester. Joining a team of 15, you will provide advice and guidance to business managers to actively manage financial performance making recommendations for improvement in order to maximise future performance and support value for money in line with Sanctuary’s business plan. Your responsibilities will include forecasting, budgeting and managing monthly accounts to ensure budgets are met and not exceeded. This role will report into the Head of Finance and will have 2-3 direct reports.

 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about process improvement and internal controls, with a background in auditing as the role focuses on control and governance. You will use your strong financial analysis and data interrogation skills to tell the story behind the numbers when presenting information back to managers.

 

The role of Finance Manager will include:

  • Providing clear guidance, advice and support on financial management to ensure compliance with policy
  • Reporting and preparing accounting information as required such as month end reports for the Executive Committee, Directors and other key stakeholders to support decision making, business planning and compliance with financial regulations
  • Providing consistently high quality timely and meaningful information to facilitate the effective financial management and performance of the organisation
  • Working with operational teams (fleet and procurement) on advising them of our controls framework, analytical reviews of spend to highlight anomalies and working with suppliers to ensure all processes are working smoothly such as card approvals, rebates and pricing
  • Leading the implementation and maintenance of financial control systems and policies
  • Ensuring complete and accurate management and statutory accounting information is recorded and maintained with the objective of minimising the risk of fraud
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with all key stakeholders

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA or similar professional qualification
  • Proven experience of managing financial services in a large, complex organisation ideally within the maintenance or contracting sector or similar
  • Experience of business partnering with cross functional stakeholders including wider finance teams and operational teams to ensure seamless communication and integrity of results and forecasts
  • Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing financial problems and explaining complex financial information in a simplified format to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proven track record of demonstrating commercial acumen, achieving results and delivering the level of detail and insight required to support the maintenance finance team
  • Comprehensive experience of influencing and managing people
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to extract and interrogate data from computer systems
  • Advanced user of MS Excel and experience of using SAP
