Assistant Management Accountant

 

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working ( 3 days office, 2 days homeworking)

 

£29,227 - £30,765 per year

 

35 hours per week

 

We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team based in Worcester. The job sits within The Student and Commercial Finance Team within Group Financial Services which is responsible for all aspects of accounting for the Group. This includes the provision of financial and management accounting services, financial analysis, preparation of annual budgets, treasury, tax and VAT management. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a similar role looking to join a fast-paced team that is consistently working towards improving their service delivery.

 

The role of Assistant Management Accountant will include:

  • Leading on the debt management process including liaising with sites and students
  • Assisting to produce and analyse accurate and timely management and statutory accounting information for internal and external stakeholders
  • Undertaking various types of analytical work around the financials to further support the business needs and add value
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasting
  • Assist with audit queries
  • Completion of timely and accurate reconciliations
  • Ad-hoc projects and support for change programmes
  • Being flexible and supporting the team with tasks that need to be completed including cashbook and inbox management

 

Skills and experiences:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • SAP experience would be desirable
  • Recent experience of working in an analytical finance role and working with large data sets is desirable
  • Ability to interpret written instruction and maintain accurate records
