Apprentice – Business and Administration


  • Fixed term contract initially for 12 months


  • Worcester – Service Request Team


  • Starting salary year 1: £8,517 per annum


  • 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

In partnership with our training provider - Worcestershire Group Training Association (WGTA) – Ofsted Grade 1 rated “Outstanding” - we are initially offering a 1 year Apprenticeship in Business and Administration. You will be provided with first rate training leading to an NVQ / QCF Level 2 nationally recognised qualification, while at the same time providing administrative support to our Business and Information team.


This job sits within the Corporate Shared Service Centre, which provides a single point of access for the delivery of core business processes relating to Human Resources, Finance, Information Systems and Procurement in support of all businesses within the Group. The Service Request Team work to ensure all Sanctuary staff members have the appropriate systems access in order to carry out their duties.


The role of Apprentice will include:

  • Carrying out a variety of administration tasks such as planning, organizing, processing and managing correspondence
  • Assisting with the leavers process, including submitting leavers forms and removing  network accounts from the system
  • Working from a shared mailbox and our systems portal to create new users on the system, provide shared access and log hardware and software requests
  • Ensuring system access is still required by completing regular reviews
  • Shadowing teams within the department to learn about how the different areas work together
  • Answering the telephone on an ad hoc basis to assist with customer queries


Skills and experiences:

  • A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade C or above (grades 4 – 9) or equivalent in Maths and English
  • A good knowledge of MS packages (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload on a daily basis – ensuring that your work is planned effectively so that deadlines are met
  • Accuracy and attention to detail – these skills are vital since you will be processing large amounts of data
  • Great communication skills both verbal and written
  • Adaptable and able to work well as part of a team
  • Committed and enthusiastic
  • Good customer service skills
