Apprentice - Accountancy

 

Fixed term contract initially for 12 months

 

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

 

Starting salary year 1: £9,391 per annum

 

35 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning Apprenticeship programme as an Accountancy Apprentice where you will rotate throughout a variety of roles within the Finance department. Beginning at the foundation positions before progressing into more complex and responsible roles, we offer a great insight into all departments of a Finance function. The skills developed throughout the professional qualification will be given the space to be showcased in the workplace allowing you to develop on a professional and personal basis.

 

In partnership with our training provider - Worcestershire Group Training Association (WGTA) we are initially offering a 1-year Apprenticeship in Accountancy. You will be provided with first rate training leading to an AAT Level 2 nationally recognised qualification, while at the same time supporting the Finance function to gain an insight into the systems and processes, we use.

 

What will you do?

  • Learning vital office skills such as planning, organising, filing, processing, and managing correspondence
  • The opportunity to develop your practical skills
  • Processing invoices and related query resolution
  • Balancing accounts
  • Handling banking and petty cash
  • Preparing VAT returns

 

What skills do you need?

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (grades 4 – 9) or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Able to follow processes and procedures
  • Good attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of MS packages (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Great communication skills
  • Commitment, determination, and enthusiasm
  • Flexible and adaptable team player
