Apprentice – Accountancy


  • 6 x positions
  • Fixed term contract initially for 12 months – commencing in September 2019
  • Worcester, Worcestershire
  • Starting salary year 1: £8,517 per annum
  • 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

In partnership with our training provider - Worcestershire Group Training Association (WGTA) – Ofsted Grade 1 rated “Outstanding” - we are initially offering a 1 year Apprenticeship in Accountancy. You will be provided with first rate training leading to an AAT Level 2 nationally recognised qualification, while at the same time supporting the Finance function to gain an insight into the systems and processes we use.


Apprentices will rotate throughout a variety of roles during the Apprenticeship. Beginning at the foundation positions before progressing into more complex and responsible roles, we offer a great insight into all departments of a Finance function. The skills developed throughout the professional qualification will be given the space to be showcased in the workplace allowing you to develop on a professional and personal basis.


The role of Apprentice may include:

  • Learning vital office skills such as planning, organising, filing, processing and managing correspondence
  • The opportunity to develop your practical skills
  • Processing invoices and related query resolution
  • Balancing accounts
  • Handling banking and petty cash
  • Preparing VAT returns 

Skills and experiences:

  • A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade C or above (grades 4 – 9) or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Able to follow processes and procedures
  • Good attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of MS packages (including Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Great communication skills
  • Commitment, determination and enthusiasm
  • Flexible and adaptable team player
