Senior Care and Support Assistant – Temporary position for up to 10 months

 

Shaftesbury Court, Winslow

 

£9.95 per hour

 

37.5 hours per week

 

 

We are seeking a Senior Care and Support Assistant to join our friendly team at Shaftesbury Court. Situated in the market town of Winslow, Shaftesbury Court is a residential care home containing four flats, each with four bedrooms. We provide residential care and support for 16 adults aged 18 to 65, with a range of learning disabilities.

The role of Senior Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the care floor and ensuring residents are being  supported in the best way possible
  • Providing full, personal care to residents, including manual handling
  • Taking responsibility for administering medication, ordering stock and repeat prescriptions and returning medication to the pharmacy
  • Delegating support to ensure residents have support with shopping, cooking and attending health and wellbeing appointments
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents, staff and visitors
  • Promoting safe practices, completing risk assessments and helping to implement safeguarding principles
  • Working as part of a wider team to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved for our residents

Skills and experiences:

  • QCF Health and Social Care level 2 or 3, or willing to work towards
  • Previous experience working with residents with physical or learning disabilities is preferable
  • Recent experience leading a care team
  • Ability to promote safe practices
  • Strong organisational skills, as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Patient and understanding with a caring disposition
