Local Service Manager – Tier 2

 

The Lookout, Kennel Lane, Littleton, Hampshire

 

£37,796 per annum (rising to £39,786 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

 

37.5 hours per week

 

 

This is a joint initiative with West Hampshire CCG and application details such as CVs will be shared with them and with our NHS partners in order to carry out shortlisting and interviewing.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join us in setting up an innovative residential mental health service near Winchester. This new scheme will provide a respite period of up to 28 days for service users with an enduring mental health diagnosis who are in crisis.

 

We’re looking for a strong leader who is committed to supporting service users, providing an alternative to admission to NHS services.

 

You will be responsible for the mobilisation of the service. Working with stakeholders and service users you will evaluate the support requirements to prevent hospital admissions and design a high quality operating model.

 

You will recruit and lead a team who will share your commitment to providing a safe environment ensuring that all service users receive the highest standard of intensive person centred support.

 

You will develop strong links with stakeholders and Southern Health Foundation Trust clinicians, setting up working processes and collaboration to support the operation of the service.

 

The role of Local Service Manager will include:

  • Carrying out an evaluation of the needs that the service will meet, working with stakeholders to design the support that will be provided
  • Leading the overall delivery of the service, through the management of the team and liaison with the Area Service Manager
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with service users and relevant external agencies, liaising effectively with statutory and voluntary partners
  • Overseeing the overall delivery of the housing management of the property
  • Delivering contract KPI’s
  • Overseeing the service’s financial performance and managing the budget to maximise income
  • Responsibility for health and safety in the service

 

Skills and experiences:

  • With previous experience of working in a managerial role within a mental health support service, you will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, staff management, leadership and problem solving skills
  • You will have experience of working in a personalised way supporting service users to maximise opportunities for personal development
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with statutory and voluntary partners
  • Experience using email, internet communications and the Microsoft tool set, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills and an ability to stay calm in emergency situations
