Trade Operative

 

Swindon – covering Swindon, Gloucestershire, Bristol and Reading

 

£27,174 - £28,604 per year

 

40 hours per week

 

We are looking for a Trade Operative to join our Planned Works team in the South West. You will join a team of 8 and be responsible for completing maintenance works and refurbishment projects in both void and occupied properties. With skills and experience in painting and decorating to include paper hanging and general maintenance duties. The role will include a company van as well as tools to help you provide a high quality service to customers. We are looking for someone who has previous experience in a similar role.

 

The role of Trade Operative will include:

  • Completing maintenance works and projects in tenanted properties ensuring time scales and plans are met
  • Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are well maintained and restocking when needed
  • Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery by resolving problems or setting a means of resolution into motion whilst ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

 

Skills and experiences:

  • City & Guilds qualification, NVQ 3 or equivalent
  • Skills in some of the following disciplines – painting and general maintenance
  • Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
  • Good communication and customer care skills
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
  • Working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
